Bareilly. Suspended PCS officer Alankar Agnihotri in Bareilly district of UP was taken out of Bareilly in a private vehicle at 2:18 pm on Wednesday. During this time there was tremendous anger among his supporters. Supporters tried their best to stop Alankar Agnihotri from leaving Bareilly. Angry supporters pushed the policemen.

Due to the push, an inspector fell on the ground. The police worked hard to remove the supporters from the front of the vehicle. After this, the police and administration succeeded in sending Alankar Agnihotri out of Bareilly. After this, his supporters blocked the main road leading to Rampur and started raising slogans.

Alankar Agnihotri had accused of putting him under house arrest

Earlier, on Wednesday morning, Alankar Agnihotri had come out of the government residence and came to the gate and told the media persons that he was under house arrest. He had also said that the administration had instructed him to stay inside his residence and he should follow the law and stay in his residence only. Alankar said that he was not being allowed to come out of his residence. Policemen say that instructions have been given not to let you go out.

Alankar Agnihotri had said that his privacy is being violated by unnecessarily installing CC cameras at his residence. ADM City Saurabh Dubey, in-charge Ramjanam Yadav, SDM Sadar Pramod Kumar and CO Pankaj Srivastava were present inside the residence since morning. Police guarded all around the house.

ADM City said – allegations are baseless

On Wednesday, ADM City Saurabh Dubey gave clarification on these allegations of Alankar Agnihotri. ADM City said that suspended PCS officer Alankar Agnihotri has not been put under house arrest. Alankar Agnihotri is currently in government service and being a public servant, he is under the security protocol. He lives in a residential colony, where other officers also live with their families. In such a situation, keeping in mind the security of the premises, outsiders can be allowed to enter only to a certain extent. The thing like house arrest is completely baseless and wrong.

After hoisting the flag in the Collectorate on Republic Day, 2019 batch PCS officer Alankar had made public his resignation. After sending his resignation, Alankar became vocal and started cornering the central and state government on the new rules of UGC and insulting Shankaracharya. Then late in the evening he went to meet the DM at his residence.

After coming out from there, he alleged that he was held hostage for 45 minutes in the DM residence. However, the DM rejected his allegations outright. Late night Alankar Agnihotri was suspended. He has been attached to the Collector Office of Shamli. The investigation of the case has been handed over to Divisional Commissioner Bareilly.

Alankar Agnihotri updated his status on WhatsApp on Tuesday night. He wrote that I am under house arrest in the ADM compound. The only means of communication is mobile phone. If you are unable to contact me, then everyone should file a petition for habeas corpus in the High Court under the Constitution of India. If we cannot be contacted, please inform the Prime Minister’s Office, the Office of the Union Home Minister as well as senior lawyers in the High Court/Supreme Court. Policemen have been instructed to install mobile jammers in the ADM compound. So that, we can be isolated from the outside world. Thanks to all those who gave inside information.
