No one will be able to forget each and every lines and characters in the popular book ' The God of Small Things ' and the writer Arundhati Roy holds a huge fan base among the readers.
A special moment happened when the legendary actor Mohanlal spoke to the 'The God of Small Things' writer over the phone in an event conducted by Mathrubhumi.
Arundhati Roy's question to Mohanlal
The call started with a simple “hello.” Mohanlal introduced himself and said, “I am Mohanlal.” Arundhati Roy then gently asked him, “Didn’t you sing a song written by my mother in a film?”
That question made Mohanlal smile. In just a second he remembered the song and started singing, “Peppera pera pera peraykka…”
The song Mohanlal remembered is the famous “Peraykka Paattu.” He sang and acted in this song in the film 'Olympian Anthony Adam'. Many people may not know this but the song was written long ago by Mary Roy , the mother of Arundhati Roy. She wrote it for school children.
A book, a note, and a warm gesture Mohanlal had one small request for Arundhati Roy. He asked her to sign a copy of her award-winning book 'Mother Mary Comes to Me'. Arundhati agreed happily and wrote a special note inside the book. The note said, “To Mohanlal. Stay cool. Love. Arundhati Roy.”
On Thursday, during the Aksharotsavam inauguration, Mohanlal will receive this book personally from her.
Back on sets with ‘L366’ Mohanlal has now joined the sets of his new film 'L366'. The film is directed by Tharun Moorthy . It went on floors on January 23 in Thodupuzha. Mohanlal shared his happiness about starting this new journey. He wrote, “Starting this journey with gratitude as I join the sets of #L366. Thankful for all your blessings and prayers.”
Soon after, social media started buzzing. A BTS picture of Lalettan appeared online. In the photo, he is seen with a charming moustache. Fans loved the look and shared it widely.
Along with the BTS picture, another buzz is doing the rounds. Many people online are saying that Mohanlal will play a police officer in the film. Some reports claim he will be seen as a Sub Inspector. However, it is important to note that none of this has been officially confirmed yet.
As the 'Thudarum' director Tharun Moorthy and Mohanlal are teaming up for the second time, the expectations are high for 'L366'.
