Delhi Police The death of Special Cell’s SWAT commando Kajal Chaudhary has shaken the capital. Kajal, 24, was allegedly hit with a dumbbell by her husband Ankur Chaudhary, following which she suffered serious head injuries. He was admitted to a private hospital in Ghaziabad, where he was declared brain dead.
Despite treatment for 5 days, he died on the morning of Wednesday, 27 January 2026. Kajal was a star commando and was posted in the SWAT unit of the Special Cell. This incident has shocked not only his family but the entire country.
dispute turns violent
The incident took place at around 10 pm on January 22, 2026, at the residence of Kajal and Ankur in Mohan Garden area of West Delhi. According to the police report, a dispute started between the two which turned into a violent fight. In anger, Ankur hits Kajal’s head on the door frame and then attacks her several times with a dumbbell. Kajal became unconscious, after which Ankur took her to the nearest hospital.
Who was Kajal Chaudhary?
Kajal Chaudhary was originally a resident of Ganaur, Haryana and had joined Delhi Police in 2022. In the initial days, she took rigorous training as a commando and on the basis of her ability, she was selected in the SWAT unit of the Special Cell. The SWAT unit is considered to be the most prestigious and high-risk operation-ready unit of Delhi Police, which can perform tasks beyond the capacity of ordinary police officers.

In the year 2023, Kajal was among the 19 female commandos who were selected as Marxwomen for the G20 Summit. He received 4 weeks of advanced counter-terrorism training before the summit. His expertise and expertise made his death all the more tragic.
Brother gave information
Kajal’s brother Nikhil, who is himself a Delhi Police constable, told that Kajal had called him during the fight and explained the situation at home. Nikhil said, “My sister took the phone and tried to explain what had happened. Chaudhary was hurt by some of the things she said. He snatched the phone and asked me to record the conversation as evidence, and also said that he would kill my sister. Then I heard her scream and then the call got disconnected.”
