In fact, the minister said that people can become homosexual due to work stress. This statement was given by the opposition leader of Malaysia after asking for statistics to LGBT. Minister Hassan said work- stress, social pressure, lack of sexual experience and religious practice are some of the reasons people are attracted to the “LGBT lifestyle”. He also cited a study conducted in 2017, which suggested a relationship between work stress and homosexuality.
Homosexuality is legally illegal in Malaysia, and the minister also said that 135 people have been arrested due to LGBT- activities between 2022 and 2025. After this statement of the Minister, there was a flood of funny reactions on social media. While some people supported him, most of them made it a subject of joke.
