Beating Retreat Ceremony is organized in Delhi every year after Republic Day, which is today. Therefore, keeping security in mind, many roads in the capital have been closed. Delhi Traffic Police has also issued an advisory for this. In such a situation, be a little careful before leaving the house, otherwise you may face problems. Delhi Traffic Police said in an advisory that in view of the Beating Retreat Ceremony and lighting programs to be held around Vijay Chowk, traffic restrictions and diversions will be in force in some parts of Central Delhi on Thursday, January 29.
These restrictions will be in place from 2 pm to 9:30 pm to facilitate the Beating Retreat Ceremony and lighting of Rashtrapati Bhavan, North Block, South Block and Parliament House as part of the Republic Day celebrations. According to the advisory, Vijay Chowk will remain closed for general traffic during this period.

Vehicular movement will be completely closed between Sunehri Masjid Roundabout and Krishi Bhawan Roundabout on Rafi Marg and from Krishi Bhawan Roundabout towards Vijay Chowk on Raisina Road. Traffic will also remain closed from Dara Shikoh Road roundabout, Krishna Menon Marg roundabout and Sunehri Masjid roundabout towards Vijay Chowk. Apart from this, the duty road between Vijay Chowk and C-Hexagon will also remain closed for the general public.

In such a situation, people can use other routes like Ring Road, Vande Mataram Marg, Aurobindo Marg, Madrasa T-Point, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Safdarjung Road, Rani Jhansi Road and Minto Road. The advisory also said that to ease the movement of spectators and reduce traffic pressure in the area, DTC and other city buses will be diverted from their regular routes between 2 pm and 9:30 pm.
Metro gate will remain closed here
Apart from this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that on January 29, the exit gates towards Rafi Marg of Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat metro stations will remain closed from 2 pm to 6 pm. Traffic police said that parking will be available behind the water channels between Rafi Marg and C-Hexagon after 7 pm for the visitors coming to the illumination event.
