The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has decided to reopen the application process for the Pump Operator recruitment 2026. A total of 191 posts will be filled through this recruitment. This is another opportunity for candidates who were unable to apply in the first phase due to technical reasons or a lack of information. This recruitment is being conducted regularly under the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), which will provide selected candidates with permanent government jobs.
Why was the application portal reopened?
BTSC stated that during the previous session (December 12, 2025, to January 12, 2026), many candidates were unable to submit their forms due to technical difficulties or a lack of correct information. Considering these problems, the commission has decided to restart the application process so that no eligible candidate is deprived of this opportunity.

Regarding the important dates related to the application process, the online application portal will be reopened on January 31, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can fill out their online applications until February 8, 2026. Payment of the application fee is also mandatory by the same date, February 8, 2026. The exam date has not yet been officially announced and will be released soon on the commission's official website.

For the Pump Operator post, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. An ITI certificate in the Machinist or Fitter trade is also mandatory. Candidates who have completed a regular ITI course will be given preference.

Selection Process and Salary
The selection process will primarily consist of a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This will be followed by document verification and a medical examination.
