There's good news for 1.56 crore women in Bihar. The Bihar government, which had provided Rs 10,000 in financial assistance to women under the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme to start their own businesses, has now begun the process of providing an additional amount of up to Rs 2 lakh. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself provided this update on Thursday. The CM said that the process of providing additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh to the beneficiaries selected under the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme has started.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar explained that this amount will be disbursed in phases. However, there is a condition: the women beneficiaries must have properly utilized the initial Rs 10,000 to start their businesses. He said that if the business is running successfully, a lump sum amount can be provided as needed. CM Nitish Kumar wrote in a post, "The Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme was launched to empower and make women self-reliant. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to women in the state for self-employment, so that one woman from each family can establish herself as an entrepreneur."

Rs 10,000 given to 1.56 crore women in the first phase
In the first phase of the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme, Rs 10,000 each was given to one woman from every family in Bihar. This money was given to start their own businesses. So far, the amount has been transferred to the accounts of 1.56 crore beneficiaries through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Have you not received the Rs 10,000 yet?
New applications for this scheme are currently closed. However, women who applied before the deadline will receive the Rs 10,000 under this scheme. The Chief Minister himself provided an update on this, stating that the remaining applicants in rural and urban areas will also receive the amount in their accounts through DBT as per the rules soon.

How to get Rs 2 lakh under the Chief Minister's Women's Employment Scheme?
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while providing information on this, said that women who have started their businesses with the first installment of Rs 10,000 will be given additional financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh, depending on their needs, after an assessment of their business after six months.

Will every woman in Bihar get Rs 2 lakh?
No, that's not the case. Only those women in Bihar who have received Rs 10,000 as the first installment and are successfully running their businesses will receive financial assistance from the Bihar government, up to a maximum of Rs 2 lakh. For example, if the government's assessment determines that you only need Rs 50,000 to expand your business, then you will receive only that amount. This decision will be made by the administration after assessing your business.

Do I need to fill out another form for the Rs 2 lakh under the Chief Minister's Women's Employment Scheme?
You will not need to fill out a separate form for the additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh under this scheme. However, you may have to apply at the Jeevika office, stating that you need additional funds to expand your business. For this, you will have to wait for six months after receiving the first installment. After six months, the progress report of your business will be assessed. Additional assistance will only be provided if the administration believes that investing more money will lead to increased profits.
