This Lucknow model suicide case is from Sector-14 of Indiranagar police station area. According to the police, Tannu Singh lived here with her husband Rahul Singh. The entire family had returned from Sitapur on Wednesday evening from a relative’s house. The atmosphere at home was normal and everyone was sitting and talking among themselves.

Meanwhile, husband Rahul Singh jokingly called Tannu a monkey in front of his sister-in-law. According to family members, Tannu felt very bad about this. She quietly went to her room without saying anything. The family felt that she would become normal in some time, so no one tried to convince them immediately.

After some time, when there was no movement from the room, the door was knocked. No response received from inside. When the door was opened, Tannu was found hanging. He was immediately taken to the hospital but the doctors declared him dead.

Family’s allegations and police action

Tannu’s sister Anjali told the police that Tannu was extremely hurt by what Rahul Singh said. Anjali says that Tannu never expressed her displeasure openly but she felt bad very quickly.

Police have interrogated husband Rahul Singh in this matter. At present, the police has sent the body for post-mortem and the report is awaited. Police officials say that all aspects are being investigated and the statements of the family have been recorded.
