If you’ve applied for the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) MTS & Havaldar exam, there’s a big update you need to know about, especially if you’re from the Eastern Region. The SSC has officially released the city intimation slip for the upcoming exam.

For everyone in the Eastern Region which includes states like West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands this is your first official heads-up about your exam location.

Hold On, This Isn’t Your Admit Card

This is the most important thing to remember: the city intimation slip is NOT your final admit card.

Think of it as a pre-admit card slip. Its main purpose is to give you advance notice of which city your exam center will be in and on what date your test is scheduled. This is done to give you enough time to make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements without any last-minute stress.

How to Check Your Exam City and Date

Downloading the slip is pretty straightforward. You just need to head over to the official website for the SSC Eastern Region (sscer.org). Once you’re there, you can log in and download the slip using either:

  1. Your Registration ID
  2. Your Name and Date of Birth

This document will officially confirm your exam city and the date of the test, so you can start planning your journey.

So, When Will the Actual Admit Card Arrive?

Now, for the big question on everyone’s mind: when will the SSC MTS admit card be released?

The SSC follows a standard pattern for this. Your final admit card, which contains the exact details of your exam center and reporting time, will be available for download approximately 3 to 4 days before your scheduled exam date. So, once you know your exam date from the city slip, you can get a good idea of when to expect your hall ticket.

A Quick Refresher on the Exam

As you get into your final revision phase, don’t forget the exam pattern. Paper 1 has two sessions. Session 1 (Math and Reasoning) is just for qualifying. The real competition is in Session 2 (General Awareness and English), as the final merit list will be based on your performance in this part. Also, remember there’s no negative marking in Session 1, but there is in Session 2, so be careful with your answers!

For now, go ahead and check your exam city, plan your travel, and then get back to your studies. All the best!
