Shashi Tharoor Says His Views Are ‘Pro-India,’ Not Pro-BJP – Read

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday said his views on certain issues should not be seen as pro-BJP, but as pro-government or pro-India. Clarifying recent controversies, Tharoor said he speaks in the national interest when required, irrespective of party lines.
Reaffirming his commitment to the Congress, he dismissed speculation about differences with the party leadership and said he continues to support the party’s stand in Parliament and public life.
He recently met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to discuss his concerns, after which he said relations within the party are on solid ground.
