David and Victoria Beckham were plunged deep into controversy after their son, Brooklyn Beckham, released a statement on their reported feud earlier this month. He made multiple claims against his parents, including allegations that they had tried to split him and Nicola Peltz-Beckham up prior to their marriage. While they haven't spoken out on the outrage, they have still put on a strong front and headed out to all of their obligations.
However, in private, things are worrying, and they're said to be "distraught" from what is going on with Brooklyn; it's looking like their fractured relationship is well and truly on the out after he issued a statement saying he did not want to reconcile with his family. He fumed: "I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
A family friend has since told HELLO! that the situation hit Posh and Becks hard, telling the publication: "Understandably, David and Victoria are distraught and wish they could have resolved this privately. Brooklyn has opened up a whole Pandora's Box."
They also warned this has "only just begun". It was stated a big concern for the pair is that it will affect everything about them and how brand Beckham is perceived. With the source noting they may turn their focus elsewhere to divert attention; even a potential Spice Girls reunion.
But at the moment, eyes are all on Victoria and David, however support still flooded in after Victoria was named a Chevalière de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture. They shared the news on social media with a family photo including their children and partners, excluding Brooklyn.
The feud has extended into the rest of the family, though Harper appears to be left out of it, with Brooklyn writing in his statement: "Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I've received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders."
He alleged: "Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer." It came as his brothers claimed that Brooklyn had blocked his parents after reports emerged that David and Victoria had unfollowed their son on Instagram.
