Before the Super Six match with India, their wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shayan has been ruled out of the tournament. 18 year old Mohammad Shayan got injured during a practice session. While he was keeping wickets on the pacer's ball, the ball hit his nose. A scan in the hospital confirmed a fracture in the nose. Due to which Pakistan Cricket Board has informed that a new player will be included in the team in his place later.
The good news for Pakistan is that the team will not need a wicketkeeper immediately, because opener Hamza Zahoor is also a wicketkeeper. He can handle the responsibility of wicketkeeping in the India match and future matches. Let us tell you that Shayan played two matches for Pakistan in the current tournament. During this period, he scored seven runs in the first match of the campaign against England, whereas he did not bat in the last match against New Zealand.
