A woman who’s trekking around the world has shared her unique approach to getting the most out of a country - having a “temporary boyfriend” wherever she goes. Orsolya Lorincz is travelling across the globe on her own but always ensures she has a partner to spend time with in each exotic location she visits.

Orsolya, 34, has had a string of adventures with her “temporary boyfriends”, with the short lived relationships typically spanning around seven days. The globe-trotter uses dating apps to meet local men who can show her around.

Orsolya, who is based in Romania, even documents her exploits on social media, sharing several clips with her temporary partners. She said: “It usually lasts for a week. It depends on how long I stay in their country. But usually I would go on Hinge dates and find, pretty fast, a local guy who is okay with being a temporary boyfriend.”

On what the short-lived couple do together, she continued: “[He] shows me around, cooks breakfast for me, buys drinks and food and sometimes I even stay at their place, if we are vibing very well.”

Orsolya was determined to travel the world and, in 2016, she made her dream a reality after quitting her corporate job and selling her apartment, using her savings to get going.

Her openness to these short-lived relationships came about after she saw an influencer online doing something similar and felt inspired by the possibilities.

She explained: “It is just a temporary boyfriend to hang out with and do stuff together. I don’t use them for free trips, more like free meals and tour guides.

“They pay for food, drinks and they are my free tour guides, or sometimes take me on day trips with their car.

“I just think it is funny and wanted to make people laugh. And maybe normalise women being more free. I stop seeing them once I leave the country.”

Their company offers other benefits, too - getting to experience each country in a “more unique way”, while also being more closely exposed to the many different cultures and ways of life around the world.

She continued: “When you know locals, they can show you things; secret spots or traditions that travel agencies can’t. It helps to experience the country in a more unique way”.

Orsolya, who currently has no “long-term plan” and is “just enjoying life” at the moment, is open to the idea of settling down with a partner - as long as they’re just as keen to travel the world as she is.

But until that happens, she’s happy to continue with her temporary boyfriends. She added: “The benefit is that I have freedom to come and go to a country as I want and I don’t always have to coordinate with a partner.

“Freedom to travel and do my plans as I wish. Having a long-term partner is also beneficial, as costs are cheaper when traveling as a couple.

“But I have never met a man that has been to more countries than I was or is willing to have this kind of life, where we travel often.

“Of course, ideally, I would find a stable job and partner. But until that happens, I am happy to meet men from different cultures to explore their country in a more in-depth way.”

She posted a video compilation of her travelling adventures on TikTok with text written over the top which reads: “How can you travel so much?!”

Then she cut to the answer, which reads: “I have a boyfriend in every country.”

She added: “Since I posted that video, I think I got at least 50 offers in my DMs and comments to be the girlfriend of people around the world. They say I can visit their country and be their girlfriend for the week.”
