Lucknow: A surprising incident came to light on Tuesday in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, where a heated argument broke out between Yogi government’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and local BJP MLA Brij Bhushan Singh. It is alleged that during this time the MLA took the minister hostage for some time. There was a political uproar after the video of this incident went viral on social media. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has taken a jibe at the internal strife surrounding BJP on this issue.
What is the whole matter?
According to the information, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh was on a visit to Mahoba on January 30. He had come here to participate in the ‘Water Offering Day Ceremony’ organized under the Jal Jeevan Mission in village Lilwahi. During this program, an argument started between local Charkhari MLA Brijbhushan Singh and the minister over some issue. In the viral video, a heated argument is seen between the two leaders.
According to reports, the dispute escalated so much that both the leaders did not even answer anyone’s phone call for some time. This incident was publicized as the minister being taken ‘hostage’. However, after some time the matter calmed down and Swatantra Dev Singh participated in the program and then left for his residence. Later, a post by the minister also indicated that everything had returned to normal by the evening.
Akhilesh Yadav took aim
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav did not delay in taking a dig at this political conflict. While sharing the video of the incident on his social media account, he targeted the BJP government. He wrote in his post that this is just an example of the infighting within the BJP.
Akhilesh further said that this is not just a fight between these two, but the situation is the same in every assembly constituency. He sarcastically said that this time BJP will not get any candidates to contest the elections.
