Hollywood actor Vin Diesel recently took to his Instagram to announce the next film in the Fast and Furious franchise. Sharing the title and release date of the film, he said that Fast Forever will be releasing in theatres on March 17, 2028. Here's everything we know about Fast Forever.

Fast and Furious, the eighth highest grossing film series of all time, just got bigger as actor Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, recently announced the next film.
Taking to his official Instagram handle, he shared a picture with late Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and wrote in the caption, “No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours. One that has defined us and become our legacy… And a legacy… lasts Forever. March 17th 2028! FAST FOREVER”
Gauging from the announcement, reports suggested that Fast Forever could be the last film in the franchise, marking the end of Universal Pictures’s biggest franchise. Fans flooded the comment section with teary eyes emojis and broken hearts, looking back at the nostalgic ride and remembering Paul Walker, who played Brian O’Conner in the previous films. Walker passed away in a tragic car crash in November 2013 while Furious 7 was still in production.
Earlier, Diesel announced on Instagram, “Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team…. To say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting… While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.”
Vin Diesel had been away from the public eye ever since his former assistant accused him of sexual battery and filed a lawsuit in December 2023. However, in 2025, the accusations against him were dismissed as the judge deemed that California law did not apply the incident as it had occurred in Georgia.
