India’s Playing XI for the 5th T20 against New Zealand: India remain favorites for the T20 World Cup despite a 50-run defeat in Visakhapatnam, where the team tried a combination of six batsmen and five bowlers and failed. Now the Indian team will play the last and fifth match of the series in Thiruvananthapuram, which is their last international match before the World Cup. Big changes can once again be seen in this match, where some players may be given rest. At the same time, some return is possible.

The last match in Visakhapatnam was a turning point, with the visiting team showing how rapidly T20 cricket is changing, both with bat and ball. They will be further strengthened by the return of Finn Allen, and his pairing with the in-form Tim Seifert will be worth watching as New Zealand look to once again counter India’s methods with their explosive batting. Overall, there will be a race to gain momentum in the last T20I of this long series, as both the teams will look to overcome their shortcomings ahead of the big tournament, the World Cup.

After the last match, Mitchell Santner had said that he was expecting “another flat pitch and small ground” for the final T20I, and that is probably going to be the case. The center pitch has been prepared for this match, and it is one of those places where the pitches play better than they look. The last time India played here, they scored 235 runs.

Big changes in India’s playing eleven

Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said that Ishan Kishan, who missed the last match due to injury, is “in all likelihood” to play in this match. Axar Patel, who missed the last three T20I matches after suffering an injury to his bowling hand, is also likely to be included in the squad. During India’s optional practice session a day before the match, both Kishan and Patel were among the first to practice in the nets. Hardik Pandya may be rested after playing four consecutive matches. Apart from this, Harshit Rana and Ravi Bishnoi may also not be seen playing in the last match.
