Balochistan:  Reports of coordinated armed incidents and explosions emerged from multiple districts of Pakistan’s Balochistan province early Saturday, shortly after the Baloch Liberation Army announced the start of what it described as the second phase of its ongoing campaign, known as Operation Herof. Information compiled by The Balochistan Post cited residents and local sources who described a rapidly deteriorating security situation across several urban and coastal areas.

Heightened Tension Across Multiple Districts

Residents in Quetta, Nushki, Kalat, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kharan, Gwadar, Pasni, Tump, Buleda and Dhadar reported an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty as gunfire and explosions were heard through the night and into the morning hours. According to accounts shared with local media, police stations, military installations and security checkpoints were among the locations affected. Authorities had not issued a comprehensive public statement outlining the scale of the incidents at the time of reporting.

Incidents Reported in Quetta

In the provincial capital Quetta, witnesses said firing and blasts were heard in several neighborhoods, including areas considered highly sensitive. On Sariab Road, armed assailants reportedly opened fire on a police patrol vehicle, killing two officers and setting the vehicle ablaze. Residents also reported hearing sustained gunfire near the railway station. Separate video footage circulating on social media appeared to show a damaged vehicle belonging to Pakistani security forces, though official confirmation was not immediately available.

Clashes Near Security Installations in Nushki

Nushki district also saw heavy gunfire, particularly near the Central Jail and the Frontier Corps headquarters. Local residents described hours of continuous exchanges of fire and loud explosions. Some unverified reports claimed that militants briefly took control of parts of the jail complex. Additional accounts suggested that the Counter-Terrorism Department office in the area was overrun and that personnel were detained, though these claims could not be independently confirmed.

Violence Spreads to Dhadar, Kalat and Dalbandin

In Dhadar, local sources said dozens of armed individuals entered the city and attacked police posts, torching several official vehicles and injuring multiple officers. Kalat witnessed a powerful blast at the main entrance of a security camp, which residents said involved a vehicle packed with explosives. Gunfire reportedly continued for several hours afterward. Similar sounds of explosions and shooting were reported in Dalbandin, where clashes were said to have taken place close to military facilities.

Reports from Coastal and Interior Areas

Accounts of armed activity were also received from Kharan, Pasni, Gwadar, Tump and Buleda. The extent of damage or casualties in these areas remained unclear, and communication disruptions were reported in some locations. Security officials had not released district-by-district assessments by the time the reports surfaced, leaving much of the information based on resident testimony.

Militant Claims and Official Silence

In a statement distributed to media outlets, the Baloch Liberation Army said it had carried out what it termed “simultaneous and coordinated attacks” across several districts as part of Operation Herof. The group claimed its fighters targeted military and administrative infrastructure and restricted the movement of security forces. It further alleged that suicide-style assaults were conducted against army and intelligence camps, and that fighting was ongoing in multiple locations. These assertions have not been independently verified.

Call for Public Support

Separately, a message attributed to the group’s leader, Bashir Zeb Baloch, called on residents to actively support the operation, framing it as a collective struggle. The statement urged civilians to leave their homes and join the effort against Pakistani forces. Government authorities have not publicly responded to these remarks, and no official casualty figures or operational details were released as of publication.
