Sai Pallavi has won the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for Best Actress for her powerful performance in ‘ Gargi ’. On Thursday, the Government of Tamil Nadu announced the State Film Awards for the years 2016 to 2022. Sai Pallavi won the 2022 Best Actress award , and she has now penned a heartfelt note on why it means so much to her.

In a note shared on her Instagram story, Sai Pallavi said, “This award for GARGI means so much to me. I thank the GOVERNMENT of TAMIL NADU for this honor.”

In ‘Gargi’, Sai Pallavi essayed the titular role of a schoolteacher. For the year 2022, ‘Gargi’ emerged as one of the biggest winners. Sai Pallavi bagged the Best Actress award, the film won Best Film (first prize), and its director, Gautham Ramachandran, grabbed the Best Director award.

Sai Pallavi also extended wishes to her fellow actors who won awards. “My heartfelt wishes to all the awardees and my team with whom I share this,” she added.

TOI had ranked the film 4 out of 5, and the review reads, “But the film belongs to Sai Pallavi, who is superb as a young woman who is determined to fight back even with the entire world against her. The actress displays the multitude of emotions Gargi undergoes over the course of the film without any false note in her performance. Meanwhile, some of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema emerged as winners at the State Film Awards. Actors Vikram , Dhanush , Nayanthara , Vijay Sethupathi, Suriya, Arya, Karthi, Sai Pallavi, Keerthy Suresh, and Jyothika received Best Actor (Male) and Best Actor (Female) honors for different years and films.

On the work front, Sai Pallavi was last seen in ‘Thandel’ opposite Naga Chaitanya.
