They welcomed ongoing efforts to establish peace in the region, including the Gaza Peace Plan. High-level meeting after a decade
Foreign ministers and senior representatives of all 22 member countries of the Arab League are participating in this meeting being co-chaired by India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this meeting is taking place after a gap of almost a decade. Earlier, the first India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ meeting was held in Bahrain in 2016.
“The second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is expected to further build upon the existing cooperation and deepen this partnership,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in an official release. It is noteworthy that the framework of cooperation between India and the Arab League was formalized after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in March 2002.
