NCP legislature party leader and wife of late Deputy Minister Ajit Pawar, Sunetra Pawar, took oath as Deputy CM of Maharashtra at Lok Bhavan today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished Sunetra Pawar, who started her tenure as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media platform X that hearty congratulations to Sunetra Pawar who started her tenure as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. She is the first woman to hold this position. I have full confidence that she will work tirelessly for the welfare of the people of the state and will fulfill the dreams of late Ajit Dada Pawar.

NCP leaders present at Lok Bhawan raised slogans of ‘Ajit Dada Amar Rahe’ when NCP Legislature Party leader and wife of late Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Sunetra Pawar took oath as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra.

Earlier, after late Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s wife and Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar was elected NCP legislature party leader, party leaders met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

NCP leader Anil Bhaidas Patil had said that the most important thing is that first we had to decide with our party workers and all the MLAs how to convince Sunetra Pawar.

He said that this has been such a big blow that it is almost impossible for Sunetra Pawar to recover from it. However, our effort is to hand over the command of the party to someone.

We feel that Sunetra Pawar can handle this responsibility at this time because local body elections are also going to be held soon. Ajit Pawar was touring to make all the candidates fielded in the elections win. After the demise of Ajit Pawar, the responsibility of handling the candidates will now be on Sunetra Pawar.

MLA Sana Malik said that if anyone could be immediately accepted in the party after Ajit Pawar, it is Sunetra Pawar. She herself was associated with the workers for the last two years.
