The Road Safety Month, which was run with the aim of creating awareness about traffic rules and reducing road accidents in the district, concluded with grandeur in the DIET campus. The closing ceremony of this month-long campaign, which started from January 1, was organized in a devotional and disciplined atmosphere. The function started with motivational presentations filled with messages of road safety.

The main feature of the program was the active participation of students from different schools. The winners of essay, painting, poster and speech competitions organized during the campaign were honored by the chief guests with certificates and awards. The guests while addressing the students said that they are not just award winners but also brand ambassadors of road safety in the society, who will inspire their families and neighborhoods for safe driving.

Present at the ceremony were Sadar MLA Bhupesh Choubey and District Magistrate B.N. Singh shared important thoughts regarding road safety. The guests said that road safety should not be just a one-month campaign, but should be made a part of lifestyle. Wearing a helmet, seat belt and obeying traffic signals are the only effective ways to prevent accidents. Under this month-long campaign, people from remote rural areas to urban areas of the district were made aware about safe driving.

During Road Safety Month, special campaigns were conducted by the Transport Department and Police Administration to educate people about the importance of helmets and seat belts. Also, more emphasis was given on awareness instead of punitive action against those violating traffic rules, which sent a positive message to the public.

On this concluding occasion, MLA Sadar Bhupesh Choubey, District Magistrate B.N. Singh, senior officers of the district, employees, teachers of various schools, educationists and a large number of students were present. The program ended with an oath to follow road safety rules.
