In a lengthy and shocking Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the 26-year-old addressed the long-speculated feud for the first time, stating he was “standing up” for himself for the first time in his life.
Brooklyn, the eldest son of David and Victoria, alleged that his parents have controlled narratives in the press for years to preserve “Brand Beckham” in the public eye, The Guardian reported.
“I have been silent for years… but my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself,” Brooklyn wrote.
Wedding drama
Brooklyn claimed his parents have tried “endlessly” to ruin his relationship with Nicola, the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz, since before their 2022 wedding.
He detailed specific incidents surrounding his nuptials, alleging that his mother, Victoria, canceled making Nicola’s dress at the “11th hour,” forcing a scramble for a replacement. He also claimed his parents attempted to “bribe” him into signing away the rights to his name just weeks before the big day.

“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday and they have never treated me the same since,” he revealed.
Brooklyn also said Victoria calling him “evil” for seating his and Nicola’s nannies at the head table, a decision made because neither nanny had a husband present, and a claim that his mother “hijacked” his first dance, dancing “inappropriately” on him in a way that left him feeling “uncomfortable and humiliated.”
“Brand Beckham”
The rift appears to have spread to his siblings, Romeo and Cruz. Brooklyn claimed his brothers were sent to attack him on social media before blocking him “out of nowhere” last summer. He also implied that Nicola was disrespected by being excluded from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations.
“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations. The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he said.

“I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
Brooklyn, who launched his hot sauce brand Cloud23 in 2024, previously ventured into photography and cooking. He also released a book of snapshots in 2017.
