Tottenham Hotspur and their Premier League rivals have only a few days left to finalise last-minute transfer activity in the January window as the scramble to strengthen squads intensifies.
The window closes at 7pm on Monday with the frantic hunt for signings commencing over the weekend. Spurs have already been considerably active during the window, both in terms of arrivals and departures.
They have wrapped up deals for midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid and full-back Souza from Santos. One of the key objectives for Spurs in the remaining days will be attempting to secure attacking reinforcements.
For Thomas Frank, his focus will centre on the weekend's Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs welcome Pep Guardiola's side in the 4.30pm kick-off on Sunday.
However, even whilst the match unfolds, activity's expected to continue behind the scenes regarding potential transfers. With all that considered, below is a look at some of the latest transfer speculation surrounding Spurs.
Lucas Paqueta has said he ignored calls from Tottenham and Chelsea before joining Flamengo back in his native Brazil. Paqueta signed for Flamengo from West Ham United on Thursday for £35.8million, making him the most expensive player ever signed by a Brazilian club.
Speaking to Flamengo TV, he said: "Tottenham called, Chelsea called, and the funny thing is that Tata (his agent) called all excited and said: 'Chelsea's calling, they're gonna make an offer.'
"I replied: 'Okay, but what about Flamengo?' He said: 'Are you serious?' I said: 'Yeah, I don't want to know about that. I want to hear about Flamengo,' and that's how it all turned out."
Man Utd battleTottenham and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic. Journalist Matteo Moretto has claimed that Spurs and the Red Devils have recently scouted the player.
However, it is said that Stankovic's former club Inter Milan are keeping tabs on his progress and have an option to bring him back in July 2026 by paying €23m (£19m) or in July 2027 by paying €25m (£21m).
The 20-year-old can play as a defensive midfielder or a central defender. The Serbian has seven goals in 35 appearances so far this season.
