Jeremy Jacquet updateLiverpool are continuing to be linked with a move for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet before the end of the January transfer window.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool are joined by Chelsea in expressing an interest in Jacquet and are holding talks with Rennes ahead of Monday’s deadline.
However, despite Liverpool holding talks with the Ligue 1 club, even if an agreement is reached, the defender would not move to Anfield until the summer at the earliest. This is due to the French club being resolute in their stance that a winter exit is off the table.
Bayern Munich have also previously been linked with signing Jacquet, but the latest reports have suggested that a move to the Bundesliga giants is “unlikely” at this stage.
Wataru Endo stanceThere has been an update on the future of Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, who is reportedly attracting interest ahead of Monday’s deadline.
It has been reported by Voetbal Primeur that Ajax are interested in signing Endo, but will not find it easy to get a deal agreed.
In fact, the report goes on to state that Endo is considered “unattainable” during the current transfer window, with Ajax seemingly giving up in their pursuit of the midfielder.
Manuel Ugarte ( Manchester United ), Christian Norgaard ( Arsenal ) and Lucas Torreira (Galatasaray) have also been identified as potential midfield targets for Ajax, but none are looking likely to leave their current employers before the deadline.
