According to The StarTong shared the experience during a Jan. 23 appearance on the YouTube talk show “The Bros Club.” The 45-year-old said she had heard rumors at the time that her boyfriend at the time was still in contact with another woman but initially chose to dismiss them.

“I’m someone who believes in seeing is believing,” she said, explaining why she did not confront the issue earlier.

She later learned that he had indeed gotten back together with his ex-girlfriend.

“I remember crying in a park for an entire night,” Tong said.

She was in the middle of filming at the time. A production assistant who lived nearby noticed her distress and stayed with her until about 5 a.m., offering support.

Malaysian news outlet Hype reported that Tong also hinted at other past partners of her being unfaithful but had never personally caught any of them with another woman. Even without direct evidence, she said, the emotional blow was severe.

Tong has dated several high-profile entertainment figures, including Shawn Yue, Amigo Choi and Tony Hung. Despite her popularity and steady career, she said her relationships have not worked out long term.

Known among fans for her forgiving nature, sometimes dubbed “the best girlfriend” by netizens, Tong acknowledged that she once defended her partners unconditionally. With age and experience, she said, her perspective has changed, and she now places greater emphasis on self-worth and emotional boundaries.

Despite past heartbreak, Tong said she remains open to love. She added that she is attracted to men with a sense of humor and believes first impressions are important in deciding whether to pursue a relationship.

Tong began her career with Hong Kong broadcaster RTHK and made her film debut in “Youth @ Y2K” in 2000. She joined TVB in 2003, first taking supporting roles before gaining wider recognition with her first leading role in the 2008 romantic drama “The Seventh Day.”

She left TVB in 2023 to focus on stage productions, screenwriting, and her bakery business.
