Vedant Trivedi played his best innings of the ICC U19 World Cup 2026 in the crunch IND vs PAK clash on Sunday. Trivedi walked into bat with the Indian team in trouble, but played the long game in what is a must win clash for his side. He patiently stroked his maiden half-century of the tournament to keep India in the hunt for a victory in Bulawayo.
Trivedi walked into bat after India lost 3 wickets in the space of 4 deliveries. India went from 47/0 to 47/3 losing their top 3 including the in-form Vaibhav Suryavanshi. With more than 40 overs to bat on a tricky wicket, Vedant dug in alongside Vihaan Malhotra to shore up the innings.
With boundaries difficult to come by, Trivedi stuck to rotating the strike and keeping the scoreboard ticking. He put on a vital half-century stand with Malhotra to take India past the hour mark.
A hallmark of the right-hander's innings was his comfort at the crease. Pakistan bowlers, both spin and pace, found help from the surface keeping the Indian batsmen in check. Throughout his innings, Trivedi just hit 2 boundaries and a six. He eventually managed 68 off 98 balls, putting the Men in Blue on course for a 200+ score.
