A property on the market for £900,000 has left people scratching their heads over one peculiar feature. Located in Beoley, north of Redditch in the West Midlands, the home boasts excellent transport links to Birmingham and even includes its own observation tower with sweeping countryside views. However, social media users have been mystified by something unusual within the detached dwelling, which stands on four acres of grounds.

Images on Rightmove reveal spacious kitchens and lounges, both containing a rectangular section partitioned off with metal railings. The most puzzling aspect is that the barrier doesn't extend from floor level, but instead covers only the upper portion at roughly head height.

This arrangement means anyone could simply stroll into the cordoned-off zone, presumably by crouching beneath the railings. Similarly, it wouldn't prevent dogs or anything besides the largest animals from entering.

One Reddit user joked it resembled a "giraffe enclosure". Another commented: "No idea what's going on here!"

Another offered a possible theory, noting the site had formerly operated as an equestrian facility, and proposed the unusual fixtures were an "indoor stable motif", suggesting horses could be housed within the property itself, reports Birmingham Live. The barrier would presumably contain horses inside the dwelling whilst preventing them from wandering freely throughout.

The six-bedroom property, marketed by A P Morgan, Redditch, boasts several distinctive characteristics, including a metal spiral staircase and a viewing tower. According to the property listing: "Set within approximately four acres of private grounds and established woodland, and bordered by open countryside, this substantial detached residence presents a rare opportunity to secure a truly versatile home with exceptional potential.

"Approached via a sweeping private driveway and framed by mature trees, landscaped greenery, and natural wildlife, the property enjoys a peaceful rural environment while remaining conveniently placed for local amenities and major transport connections.

"Despite its idyllic seclusion, the location offers excellent accessibility - within easy reach of Birmingham, fast rail services to London, and convenient road access to motorway networks and Birmingham Airport, making it an ideal retreat for commuters, home-based professionals, or those seeking a perfect balance between countryside living and urban connectivity."

The listing goes on to highlight the property's suitability for "multi-generational living", operating a home business, or redevelopment opportunities.

"With its distinctive architecture, extraordinary space, and private woodland setting, this residence offers a remarkable opportunity to create a bespoke countryside estate," the listing states. "Whether envisioned as a spacious family home, a live-work lifestyle property, or an ambitious creative project, the possibilities are truly exceptional."

Despite its peculiar features, several Reddit users expressed their admiration for the property.

One user commented: "Aside from the ridiculous indoor fence (or) whatever the hell that is, I think this could be a lovely gaff. So much land too."

Another chimed in: "This is near me. Never heard of it but tempted to go view it just for the internet points!"
