Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Karnataka, Jharkhand, Andhra, Uttarakhand, J&K advance to quarter-finals

New Delhi: TheRanji Trophy 2025-26 league stage ended on Sunday after seven rounds in the four Elite groups, with eight teams qualifying for the quarter-finals. Defending champions Vidarbha were shockingly eliminated from the group stages, despite securing 31 points and four outright wins.

Even after winning six points with a victory against Uttar Pradesh, the defeat against Andhra in the previous round cost them a spot in the quarterfinals. They were locked on 31 points with Andhra and Jharkhand, and finished third on the table due to fewer bonus-point wins, which is the first tie-breaker after the points.

After securing a victory against Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh finished in the first position of Group B, while Karnataka advanced with a brilliant victory against Punjab to finish second. Devdutt Padikkal smashed an unbeaten 120 runs off 85 balls, as Karnataka chased down a 250-run target on the last day against Punjab in only 28 overs.

Bengal finished with a whopping 36 points and secured the top position in Group C, with Uttarakhand booking the second spot. Record Ranji Trophy winners Mumbai and J&K also qualified from the last Elite Group.

Ending their dismissal tournament with only one point, Nagaland have been relegated to the Plate group next season, with Bihar getting a promotion after winning the lower-tier title this season.

Andhra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Bengal, Uttarakhand, Mumbai and J&K have qualified for the quarterfinals of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26.

Quarterfinals schedule – February 6-10, 2026

Quarterfinal 1 – Jharkhand vs Uttarakhand
Quarterfinal 2 – Madhya Pradesh vs Jammu & Kashmir

Quarterfinal 3 – Bengal vs Andhra
Quarterfinal 4 – Mumbai vs Karnataka

The semifinals of the tournament will be played from February 15 to 19, and the final will begin on February 24.
