Bio-Pharma Budget 2026: Today Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced India’s financial year 2026-27 (Budget 2026-27) budget was presented. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary then described the budget and praised the Finance Minister and the Modi government. The presented budget was termed as historic and visionary budget. He particularly appreciated the ‘Bio Pharma Shakti’ programme, which would be a decisive step towards making India a global bio-pharma manufacturing hub. This belief was expressed.

The Finance Minister has proposed the ‘Bio Pharma Shakti’ scheme in the Budget 2026-27 to take the country’s biopharmaceutical sector to new heights. 10,000 crore will be spent on this over the next five years. Samrat Choudhary posted on X This huge investment will create a strong ecosystem for domestic production of biologicals and biosimilar medicines. Also, it will enable expensive drugs used to treat complex diseases to be manufactured in India at affordable prices. He expressed that belief.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the common people will benefit the most from this initiative. Biosimilar drugs are just as effective and safe as the original biological drug, but cost significantly less. Moreover, increased innovation and manufacturing in this sector will create thousands of high-skilled employment opportunities. He also said.
