After the conclusion of the budget speech, Marandi, while talking to the media at the state office of BJP, said that the budget has clearly emphasized on how the income of the common people can be increased. Employment generation, promotion of industries and investment in social sectors will strengthen the country’s economy.
He said that expansion of economic activities will provide employment to the youth and the concept of self-reliant India will be further strengthened. The Leader of Opposition, while appreciating the budget provisions made regarding the pharmaceutical industry and medical tourism, said that this is an important initiative towards making the country a hub of pharmaceutical production. This will not only create employment opportunities on a large scale but will also increase foreign exchange earnings.
He said that by making medicines for many diseases including cancer cheaper, the general public will directly benefit. This is a relief step especially for the poor and middle class. He described the plan to promote medical tourism as especially beneficial for Jharkhand.
He said that just as Mahatma Gandhi had made Charkha a medium of public awareness, similarly the rural economy can be strengthened by promoting indigenous textile industry and textile projects.
Marandi described the proposal for setting up 200 industrial corridors as a milestone for industrial development. Along with this, the announcement of construction of hostels for girls in every district was described as a big step towards social empowerment. He said that the needs and facilities of persons with disabilities have also been kept in mind in the budget, which makes it inclusive.
