Good news has emerged for young people preparing for jobs in the Bihar Police. The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) has released a recruitment notification for Constable (General Duty Close Cadre) posts in the Bihar Police Special Branch. A total of 83 posts will be filled under this recruitment. The application process will be entirely online, and candidates who have passed the 12th grade can participate. Importantly, this recruitment will not include physical tests such as running or jumping, and selection will be based on a written examination.

How many posts will be filled?
Of these, 34 posts are reserved for the unreserved category, 8 for EWS, 13 for Scheduled Castes, 1 for Scheduled Tribes, 18 for Extremely Backward Classes, 10 for Backward Classes, and 2 for women of Backward Classes.

Application dates and eligibility information
Applications for this recruitment will begin on February 6, 2026, and interested candidates can apply until March 5, 2026, on the website csbc.bihar.gov.in. Candidates must have passed the 12th grade to apply.

Age Limit
The minimum age for general category candidates is 18 years, and the maximum age is 25 years. Men from Backward and Extremely Backward Classes will receive a 2-year age relaxation, while women will receive a 3-year relaxation. SC and ST candidates will receive a maximum age relaxation of 5 years. Bihar government employees can also avail of additional age relaxation as per rules.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The recruitment process will begin with a written examination. The written examination will consist of two papers, each with 100 questions and a time limit of 90 minutes. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. A minimum of 30 percent marks is required in the written examination. There will be no interview, and the merit list will be based on the marks obtained in the main examination.

Physical Measurement
Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for physical measurement. Male candidates will have specific height and chest measurements required, while female candidates must have a minimum height of 155 centimeters and weigh at least 48 kilograms.
