This is great news for students dreaming of a career in engineering and architecture. The National Testing Agency has released the official notification for JEE Main 2026 Session II. The online application process has also begun. Interested candidates can apply within the stipulated time frame. The JEE Main exam provides admission to prestigious engineering institutions in the country.

When will the exam be held?

The JEE Main 2026 Session-2 examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency, will be held in April in online mode. The online application process for NTA JEE Main 2026 Session-2 has started today. Interested candidates can apply online until 9 PM on February 25, 2026. The JEE Main Session-2 exam will be conducted online between April 2 and April 9, 2026. Admit cards will be made available to candidates approximately 3 days before the exam. The answer key will be released after the exam, while the results will be declared soon after.

How much is the application fee?

Candidates applying for NTA JEE Main 2026 Session-2 will have to pay the examination fee according to their category.

Candidates applying only for Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech) in JEE Main 2026 Session-2 will have to pay the examination fee according to their category. The application fee for male candidates in the General category is Rs. 1000.  Female candidates in the General, OBC, and EWS categories will have to pay Rs. 800.  The application fee for male and female candidates in the SC and ST categories is Rs. 500. Candidates can pay the examination fee through debit card, credit card, net banking, or e-challan. Candidates who wish to apply for both Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper-2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) must pay the combined examination fee prescribed for both papers. This fee is ₹2000 for male candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories. Female candidates from the same categories will have to pay ₹1600 as the application fee. For male and female candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories, the application fee for both papers is ₹1000. Candidates can pay this fee through debit card, credit card, net banking, or e-challan.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for JEE Main 2026 Session-2, it is mandatory for the candidate to have passed Class 12. Students appearing for the Class 12 examination in 2026 are also eligible to apply. For this examination, it is necessary for the candidate to have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects.
Candidates without PCM subjects will not be considered eligible for the JEE Main examination.
