For us Indians, whenever there is a festival or festival or when relatives and guests are invited for dinner, then Puri is definitely served in the dinner plate. When it comes to puri, there are many varieties in it, like spinach puri, fenugreek puri, potato puri, matar puri, simple puri etc. But if you want to try something new then this time you can make Makhana Puri. This name sounds a bit different when you hear it, but believe me, it is amazing in both taste and health. So come on, quickly note down the easy recipe of Makhana Puri.
Material
Makhana – 1 cup
Wheat flour – 1 cup
Semolina – 2 tbsp (for crispiness)
Celery – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Ghee or oil – 1 tablespoon (for moyan)
Water – as per need
Oil – for frying
Method
- Lightly dry roast the makhanas, once they cool down, grind them in a mixer to make a fine powder.
- In a bowl add wheat flour, makhana powder, semolina, celery, salt, red chilli and ghee/oil. Now add water little by little and knead a stiff dough.
- Keep the dough covered for 10-15 minutes. Then make small balls and roll them like puri. Heat oil in a pan and fry the puris on medium flame until they become golden and puffed.
- Serve Makhana Puri with potato curry, chickpeas, or curd. You can also prepare it with rock salt to eat during fasting.
