India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: There is good news for those eagerly waiting for a government job. Indian Postal Department (India Post) has issued recruitment for 28740 posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks. This is a golden opportunity for those youth who want to become government employees. The application process for this has started from 31 January 2026.

When will the applications be filled?

• Through this recruitment conducted by India Post, there will be appointments on the posts of Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak.
• The application process for this recruitment has started from 31 January 2026. Candidates can apply till 14th February.
• Corrections in the applications made for recruitment can be made between 18 to 19 February 2026.

What is the qualification required for recruitment?

• It is mandatory for the candidates to have passed 10th from any recognized institute, which should include Mathematics and English.
• There should be knowledge of the language of the circle for which the application is being made.
• Candidates should have knowledge of computer science.
• Candidates should know how to ride a bicycle.

When will the merit list be released?

• Candidates in this recruitment will be selected on the basis of merit.
• The first merit list will be released on 28 February 2026.
• The age of the candidate will be minimum 18 years and maximum 40.

How much salary will I get?

• The candidate will get the initial post of Gramin Dak Sevak. After 3 years, there will be an examination for recruitment to the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS).
• There will be an exam after 5 years of MTS to become a postman. After this, Postal Assistant will be made on the basis of experience and examination.
• For Assistant Branch Post Master, the salary will be Rs 10000 to 24470, for Branch Postmaster, the salary will be Rs 12000 to 29380 per month.
