New Delhi. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday claimed that he is not being allowed to speak on the subject of national security in the Lok Sabha and the government is afraid that if the contents of former Army Chief MM Naravane’s book come to light then the country will come to know the reality of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

Rahul Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament complex after the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day that the country will also know what happened to the “56-inch chest” when the Chinese troops were advancing.

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said, “I am not being allowed to speak.” I say that this is a matter of national security. This is about the former Army Chief’s conversation with the Defense Minister and the Prime Minister. I want to speak about what Modi ji said to him, what orders Rajnath ji gave. Don’t know why you are scared?

He claimed that the Modi government is afraid that if the things written in General Naravane’s book come to light, then “the country will know the reality of Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh and will also know that when China was coming towards us – what happened to the chest of ’56 inches’?”

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi tried to target Prime Minister Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh by quoting some excerpts from the draft of the memoirs of the former Army Chief in the House, which led to heated exchanges and uproar between the members of the ruling party and the Congress and the proceedings of the House were disrupted.

The Defense Minister alleged that the Leader of the Opposition’s words are completely imaginary and he is trying to mislead the House. Due to deadlock in the House, the meeting of the House was adjourned at 4.10 pm till 11 am on Tuesday after two adjournments.
