Triphala is beneficial in balancing Vata dosha, know the correct way of consumption

For the human body to function smoothly, it is very important for the three doshas to be balanced, which include Vata, Pitta and Kapha. In winter, Vata Dosha naturally increases in the body and joint pain, stomach problems and bone diseases start troubling you, but do you know that an Ayurvedic medicine is helpful in balancing Vata Dosha? We are talking about Triphala, which not only solves stomach problems but also balances Vata. However, the way it is consumed also affects it.

It is believed in Ayurveda that if the increase of Vata is to be stopped then consuming Triphala with fat will be beneficial. Triphala works more quickly when combined with fat, such as consuming Triphala with ghee. One should take half to one teaspoon of Triphala and pure cow’s ghee mixed in a glass of lukewarm water at night. This creates lubrication in the intestines and makes it easier to remove toxins.

The second method is ‘Triphala Ghrit’. In Ayurveda, ‘Triphala Ghrit’ is considered a medicine, in which ghee is cooked by mixing it with many medicines. If you are troubled by increasing Vata dosha, you can consume ‘Triphala Ghrit’ at night. Along with balancing Vata, it will also provide relief from stomach diseases.

The third way is to consume Triphala with castor oil. With the increase of Vata, the problem of constipation starts troubling the stomach. For this, a few drops of castor oil can be mixed with Triphala powder and taken with water. This increases intestinal motility. The thing to keep in mind is that Vata naturally increases during evening and night in winter and in such a situation, consume Triphala with a gap of 2 hours after dinner.

Increase in Vata causes stiffness in the body, constipation, stress, difficulty in sleeping, pain in joints, restlessness and tremors in the body. This increases everything from mental fatigue to physical pain.
