Nagpur Metro Budget 2026: Nagpur Metro had demanded a provision of Rs 1,335 crore in this year’s budget. But as there is no announcement regarding metro in the budget, confusion has arisen. After this, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed that the state has received about Rs 1 lakh crore in the budget. It mentions Pune and Mumbai Metro, but no claim is made about Nagpur Metro. Therefore, there is a possibility of disappointment on the part of Nagpur Metro. Notably, Nagpur Metro had high hopes for speeding up the second phase, but funds seem to have not been allocated in the budget.

Palghar District Budget 2026: ‘Achche Din’ will come to Palghar district due to the budget! New doors of development have opened

When contacted the Metro officials in this regard, they said that nothing has been clarified yet, but it is fully expected that Nagpur will also get the funds. This will be clarified on Monday-Tuesday. Once the project starts, there is no question of withholding funds. Also, timely completion of projects is the priority of the government. In the Union Budget 2024-25, a provision of Rs 683 crore was made for Nagpur Metro. Metro has received Rs 3,300 crore so far for Phase-II and the total cost of the project is Rs 6,708 crore. Most of the tenders for the second phase have been issued and the construction work is going on at a fast pace. Adequate funding in the budget is very important to maintain the pace of work. Of the Rs 3,300 crore received for Phase-II, Rs 2,000 crore has been received from the government, of which the state government’s share is Rs 775 crore.

230 crores have been sanctioned for the conservation of Mula-Mutha river in Pune. This will speed up the project. However, nothing has been mentioned in the budget regarding Nag River. Surprisingly, this project is also worth Rs 1,200 crore and was funded last time. But this year, silence has been observed. Nagpur, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune have been selected as ‘Growth Hubs’. This will strengthen the city. A contribution of Rs 5,000 crore will be made in five years under this scheme. According to experts, these funds will accelerate the projects. Many schemes going on with the funds of the state and central government will also be helped. Being a ‘Growth Hub’ will have many benefits.

Gold-Silver Price Rule: A big blow to gold and silver after the Budget! Know these tax rules if you are going to invest

On the one hand, Nagpur is being declared as a ‘Growth Hub’, on the other hand, the question is raised as to why there is indifference in the allocation of funds. Even though it is the home town of the state’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, this situation has become an unsolvable puzzle for the public. The Budget proposes a special lump sum measure for sale of subsidized domestic tariff area (DTA) to eligible manufacturing units in Special Economic Zones (SEZ). The major benefit of this proposal will get the industries in Mihan SEZ. This is definitely going to be an effective solution for SEZ.
