Liverpool have failed to meet expectations this season following their headline-grabbing summer signings. The Reds strengthened from a position of dominance as reigning Premier League champions, breaking their club record transfer fee twice to bring in Florian Wirtz andAlexander Isak.

Arne Slot's men were heavily tipped to defend their Premier League title before the season began. Initial results suggested those predictions might prove accurate, but Liverpool's momentum eventually faded, leaving them scrapping for Champions League qualification.

Isak has failed to justify his £125million price tag and has since picked up a serious injury. In contrast, fellow forward Hugo Ekitike has been an instant success.

The Reds pipped Newcastle to the France international's signature, and the £69m signing wasted no time making an impact, scoring on his Premier League debut. Yet, the former PSG forward earns considerably less than Isak's wages.

According to Spotrac, Isak, who arrived for a British record transfer fee, earns £280,000 per week at Liverpool. Arriving with considerable expectation after his successful stint at Newcastle United, the striker was still finding his feet in Slot's system when injury struck, managing three goals across 16 appearances.

Isak ranks third in the squad's wage bill and earns 40 per cent more than Ekitike. The French striker agreed a weekly wage of £200,000 when he arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.

Ekitike's wages still place him joint-fourth in the club's wage hierarchy, however. Cody Gakpo and £116m acquisition Wirtz also earn £200,000 per week, according to Spotrac.

Liverpool's two highest earners are reportedly Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. The latter penned a fresh two-year deal towards the end of last season, with the club captain banking £350,000 per week.

However, Salah is unsurprisingly the club’s highest earner with a weekly wage of £400,000 after also agreeing his new deal in April 2025. The club legend sits third on Liverpool’s all-time scorer list since signing from Roma in 2017.

Andy Robertson misses out on the top spots in Liverpool’s wage bill, with his £160,000 weekly salary placing him seventh within the squad. Ibrahima Konate’s reported weekly salary of £70,000 puts him 18th in the list.

Alisson Becker receives £150,000 per week, placing him joint-10th alongside Federico Chiesa. Meanwhile, Curtis Jones is claimed to be near the lower end of the wage bill, taking home £15,000 per week.
