Prince Harry 'riling up' Meghan Markle with advice about her latest venture

Prince Harry is said to be "very wary" of Meghan Markle's plans to expand her As Ever lifestyle brand.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, is understood to be concerned about the huge financial risk his wife may take with international distribution and marketing costs. Meghan wants to exploit the overseas market, including audiences in the UK, despite criticism As Ever underperformed in the US.

A website glitch last month exposed large inventory records for several products, approximately 220,000 jars of jam, 30,000 jars of honey, 90,000 candles, 80,000 flower sprinkles tin, and around 70,000 bottles of wine. It is for this reason Harry is thought to be worried about Meghan's vision, but his opinion has only served to "rile" Meghan.

A source said: "He isn’t saying that she ought to throw in the towel; he just wants her to take it at a more sensible pace as the cash isn’t flowing the way it used to. If Harry wants to stay on her good side, he’d do well to stop trying to be the voice of reason. She’s not going to take his advice anyway, and all he’s doing is riling her up."

According to Closer, the duke fears the cost of international distribution to the likes of the UK will prove to be unsustainable for As Ever. However the range of products, which include jam, honey and wine, are said to have sold out quickly after they were first released in the summer.

It has reportedly buoyed defiant Meghan on and she now believes she can take over the British jam market as part of a global rollout, it is understood. Following the website glitch at the start of this year, insiders praised the mum of two's determination and resilience.

And sources doubled down on this praise today, with one stating: "She's been gearing up for this next phase for a long time; that's why there's been so much stock produced, and she's ready to pull the trigger." The source added that Markle believes she can make “some serious money” by expanding across the markets of Europe and Asia. They shared, “It will give her a lot of satisfaction to dominate the UK jam market, which is something she really believes will be possible once her brand is exposed to a wider audience in Britain.”

Meghan and Harry recently attended this year's Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of Girls Scouts documentary Cookie Queens. Harry and Meghan served as executive producers of the film through their media company, Archewell Productions, cheerily posed for photos with director Alysa Nahmias beforehand.
