Who Is Shubham Ranjane: The USA team for the 2026 T20 World Cup has been announced. A 15-member team has been selected under the captaincy of Monank Patel. The 2026 T20 World Cup will start from February 7 and it will be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka. Out of the 15 players of the team, ten players were part of the team that played the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Shubham Ranjane in USA team

All-rounder Shubham Ranjane has also been included in the USA team. 31-year-old Ranjane earlier played domestic cricket for Mumbai and was also a part of Rajasthan Royals in IPL. He last played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy in 2022. He has made his debut in Major League Cricket in 2023. He has played 4 ODIs for USA so far. Shubham is yet to debut in T20 International. He is very close to Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. In an interview, Shubham Ranjane said, “Surya was not just a teammate. He was like an elder brother to me. Even when I doubted myself, he believed in me.”

Apart from him, Shehan Jayasuriya, who has played 12 ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka, has also been included in the team. Pakistan-born Mohammad Mohsin is also a part of the T20 World Cup team. Both of them have not played any international match for USA yet.

First match against India

USA has been placed in Group A of the 2026 T20 World Cup, where it will face Pakistan, Namibia, Netherlands and India. USA will start its campaign against India on 7 February in Mumbai. After this they will face Pakistan on 10th February, after which there will be a match against Netherlands on 13th February. Their last group stage match will be against Namibia on 15 February. In the last T20 World Cup, USA had created a big upset by defeating Pakistan and made it to the Super 8.
