Prince Harry is reportedly "very wary" of Meghan Markle's ambitions to broaden her As Ever lifestyle brand.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, is believed to harbour concerns about the enormous financial gamble his wife might undertake with global distribution and promotional expenses. Meghan seeks to capitalise on international markets, including British consumers, despite criticism that As Ever failed to meet expectations in America.
A technical fault on the website last month revealed substantial stock figures for various items, roughly 220,000 jars of jam, 30,000 jars of honey, 90,000 candles, 80,000 flower sprinkles tins, and approximately 70,000 bottles of wine. It is precisely this that has Harry reportedly anxious about Meghan's aspirations, though his viewpoint has merely succeeded in "riling" Meghan.
An insider revealed: "He isn't saying that she ought to throw in the towel; he just wants her to take it at a more sensible pace as the cash isn't flowing the way it used to. If Harry wants to stay on her good side, he'd do well to stop trying to be the voice of reason. She's not going to take his advice anyway, and all he's doing is riling her up."
According to Closer, the duke dreads that the expense of worldwide distribution to countries such as Britain will prove financially ruinous for As Ever.
Nevertheless, the collection of goods, which encompasses jam, honey and wine, reportedly flew off the shelves rapidly following their initial launch during the summer.
It has reportedly emboldened a resolute Meghan, and she now reckons she can conquer the British jam market as part of a worldwide launch, it is understood.
After the website technical difficulties at the beginning of this year, insiders lauded the mother of two's tenacity and fortitude.
And sources reinforced this acclaim today, with one declaring: "She's been gearing up for this next phase for a long time; that's why there's been so much stock produced, and she's ready to pull the trigger."
The source continued that Markle reckons she can earn "some serious money" by venturing into the markets of Europe and Asia.
They revealed, "It will give her a lot of satisfaction to dominate the UK jam market, which is something she really believes will be possible once her brand is exposed to a wider audience in Britain."
Meghan and Harry recently turned up at this year's Sundance Film Festival for the screening of Girls Scouts documentary Cookie Queens.
Harry and Meghan worked as executive producers of the film via their media enterprise, Archewell Productions, and happily struck poses for photographs with director Alysa Nahmias beforehand.
