New Delhi . The countdown for T20 World Cup 2026 has now intensified. This tournament will start from February 7 jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and this is its tenth edition. India is the defending champion. Before the tournament, former cricketers and experts are sharing their opinions and predictions. In this series, former England captain Michael Vaughan has given his four Names of semi-finalist teams revealed

T20 World Cup 2026 format and team details
The format of the upcoming tournament will be similar to 2024 in which a total of 20 teams will participate. Nine top 10 ranked teams will play in it. Bangladesh will not participate due to security reasons and Scotland has been included in its place. There will be four groups in the group stage. There will be five teams in each group and the top two teams from each group will enter the Super 8 stage.
India is in Group A along with Pakistan, Netherlands, Namibia and USA. India will start its campaign against USA on 7th February, followed by Namibia on 12th February and Netherlands on 18th February. Pakistan has boycotted the match against India to be held in Colombo on 15th February. In case of walkover, India will get full points.
England are in Group C and will face Nepal on February 8, West Indies on February 11, Scotland on February 14 and Italy on February 16.
Australia are in Group B and will face Ireland on February 11, Zimbabwe on February 13, Sri Lanka on February 16 and Oman on February 20.
New Zealand is part of Group D which includes Afghanistan, UAE, South Africa and Canada. New Zealand will play against Afghanistan on February 8, UAE on February 10, South Africa on February 14 and Canada on February 17.

South Africa’s exclusion from the semi-finals is in discussion
