The NPP (TL) was officially launched on Monday as a regional political party in Manipur. Yumnam Joykumar assumed the role of president. He told ET, “As of now we are planning to contest 27 assembly seats for the 2027 assembly polls. However, as the election nears, we may contest around 30 to 35 seats.”

Joykumar said, “Monday meeting was attended by several former MLAs and popular leaders. Some MLAs NPP and other parties are willing to join us, now they are refraining to join as they were under Anti defection law however as election draws nearer, they will join us.”
