Shribhoomi- It is noteworthy that as the 2026 elections are approaching, political enthusiasm is increasing in Barak Valley also in sync with the entire state. Along with the leaders of the opposition party, the ruling party also continues to maintain public relations at various places. Following a series of harsh speeches by the state Chief Minister, big-name leaders of the ruling party in centers with a majority of minority Muslim voters are in trouble.

In which there is a lot of turmoil among the ruling and opposition party leaders regarding North Karimganj seat. On one hand, the people who have been troubled by voting for the opposition party Congress/AIUDF in the past are looking for a new face, on the other hand, the minority Muslim voters, devastated by the indifference of the local leaders of the ruling party, also want a trustworthy personality from the ruling party who is from the young generation and has both types of capabilities.

Have acceptance and responsibility towards the community. Local leaders are having to gain a lot of momentum in this matter. Because there are many old personalities whose mentality and work do not have the influence of youth activism, while there are many who are young in age and new faces but do not have acceptability among the voters from both sides of the community. Then there are many such that the public was not satisfied with the earlier tenure of various political representatives, hence the voters are angry at giving them a second or third chance.

But amid all these political upheavals, Munni Chettri, a social worker engaged in social service for a long time, is being considered as a promising female ticket candidate and this name is emerging in the electoral scenario from both the Hindu and Muslim communities. In the entire Barak Valley, social worker Munni Chettri is still the first choice of the general public in the political field, in whom people from both Hindu and Muslim communities are being encouraged to vote in large numbers for the BJP party or as an independent.

Even ignoring the policy instructions of the party in public support of Munni Chhetri, many Congress voters also openly said that if Munni Chhetri gets BJP ticket, then we will have to vote for BJP also so that Munni Chhetri’s ideals and his responsibility towards social service can be respected. On the other hand, special sources have reported that the opposition party also does not want social worker Munni Chhetri, who has acceptance in both the communities, to get a ticket from BJP.

Because through the social service he has been doing for a long time, he has special acceptance and influence in the minority Muslim community. Now it remains to be seen who will be favored by the high command from North Karimganj and who will get the ticket.
