Vadodara: The eliminator match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 took place between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. In this match, Delhi Capitals achieved a strong victory by 7 wickets. With this win, Delhi Capitals ensured their place in the final, while Gujarat Giants were eliminated from the tournament.
Gujarat Giants’ weak start
Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodriguez won the toss and decided to bowl. Gujarat Giants’ batting did not start well. He suffered significant setbacks in the first over itself. His first wicket fell for just 9 runs. After this, his two more batsmen were out on 38 runs. Due to the fall of wickets on two consecutive balls in the sixth over, the pressure on the team increased and the run pace became very slow.

Lizelle Lee played a brilliant inning of 43 runs on 24 balls and Shafali Verma played a brilliant inning of 31 runs on 21 balls. Apart from this, Laura Wolvaardt led the team by scoring 32 runs on 24 balls, while captain Jemimah Rodriguez contributed 41 runs. Gujraj bowlers had to face problems in this match.
