Rajpal Yadav stuck in legal trouble, know what is the matter

Rajpal Yadav: Legal troubles seem to be increasing for Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, as the Delhi High Court passed an order that he will have to surrender before the concerned jail superintendent by February 4, 2026. The court gave this order after the 54-year-old star violated the court proceedings in the check bounce case. This case is to Delhi-based company M/s Murali Projects Private Limited, which had given money to Rajpal’s company to make the film. The court termed the actor’s behavior as condemnable and said that non-payment despite repeated assurances is a tampering with the judicial process.

Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma criticized Rajpal’s conduct in the case, saying he did not fulfill payment promises made to the complainant, Murali Projects Pvt Ltd, despite being given several opportunities and showing excessive tolerance. The court said that his behavior is condemnable. The order came when the court was hearing a group of appeals against the conviction of Rajpal and his wife under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. He was sentenced to six months’ simple imprisonment. A coordinate bench had already stayed the sentence till June 28, 2024. Saying that the pair are not hardened criminals and are ready to find a peaceful solution. After this the matter went to mediation.

Rajpal Yadav check bounce case
After the mediation session, the court said that from June 2024, Rajpal asked for extension several times and promised to make the payment every time, but never did. Rajpal had earlier promised the court that he would pay Rs 2.5 crore in installments of Rs 40 lakh and Rs 2.10 crore. However, he failed to deposit the money by the newly scheduled dates. Justice Sharma said the actor did not take any steps to deposit the demand draft with the Registrar General or correct the mistakes pointed out in the draft. No application was made seeking permission or clarification.

Rajpal Yadav will surrender
Rajpal Yadav was asked to surrender before the Jail Superintendent by February 4, 2026, but because Yadav’s lawyer had requested for it as the actor had to work in Mumbai, the court asked him to surrender before the Jail Superintendent by 4:00 pm on February 4, 2026, to serve the sentence given by the trial court. To get the jail authorities to follow the rules, the matter was fixed for February 5, 2026.
