Cain Velasquez is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and one of the most respected fighters in MMA history. He finished his career with a 14-3 record. Velasquez was born on July 28, 1982, in Salinas, California, and is Mexican-American. He became famous for his amazing stamina, strong wrestling, and nonstop pressure. Unlike most heavyweights, Cain could keep a fast pace for an entire fight, which made him very hard to beat.

Velasquez, who won the UFC heavyweight division title twice, first became champion in 2010 by defeating Brock Lesnar, making history as the first fighter of Mexican descent to win the UFC heavyweight belt. Velasquez regained the UFC heavyweight title from Junior dos Santos in dominant fashion at UFC 155 in 2012. Thirteen months earlier, dos Santos had taken the belt from Velasquez with a 64-second knockout. This time, Velasquez completely controlled the fight to overwhelm dos Santos and reclaim the championship. At his best, many fans believed he was one of the greatest heavyweights ever. Velasquez last fought in February 2019, when he lost to Francis Ngannou.

After stepping away from mixed martial arts, he moved into professional wrestling, making his debut with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He later signed with WWE in 2019, continuing his career in sports entertainment. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Velasquez made his WWE debut on October 4, 2019, during the first episode of Fox’s 'SmackDown' Season 20. He shocked fans by confronting and attacking 'Lesnar in the ring. This led to a highly anticipated match between the two for the WWE Championship on October 31, 2019. However, the match was very short. Lesnar retained the title in just 88 seconds, forcing Velasquez to tap out to the Kimura Lock.

However, according to Marca, his time with WWE was brief. Velasquez was released in 2020 as part of company-wide budget cuts, bringing a quick end to his run with the organization.

CAIN VELASQUEZ ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE

Velasquez, who is serving a prison sentence after pleading no contest to attempted murder, is now officially eligible for parole, reported Fightful. His parole date was first set for March 2026, as per a Fightful report, but inmates can reduce their time by taking part in rehabilitation and education programs. Because of this, Velasquez qualified earlier than expected.

The murder charge stems from a February 2022 incident in which he led police on a high-speed car chase and fired multiple shots from a handgun at a vehicle. The car carried Harry Goularte, a man accused of sexually abusing Velasquez’s young son at a daycare run by Goularte’s mother.

In October 2024, Velasquez entered the no-contest plea and was sentenced to five years in prison. He is currently incarcerated at the Correctional Training Facility. His parole eligibility marks a major development in a case that drew widespread public attention due to its emotional and legal complexity.

CAIN VELASQUEZ'S NET WORTH

Despite his legal issues, Velasquez’s net worth is estimated at around $4 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. After completing an undefeated amateur wrestling career at Arizona State University, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth, Velasquez moved into MMA in 2006. He adjusted quickly to the sport and soon began racking up impressive wins

During his MMA career, he fought at the highest level and earned strong income from fight purses, sponsorship deals, and pay-per-view bonuses. Some of his biggest and most memorable wins came against Brock Lesnar, Junior dos Santos, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

These victories helped build his reputation as one of the top heavyweight fighters of his era. However, during the later part of his UFC career, frequent injuries held him back and prevented him from competing regularly, which ultimately limited the length and consistency of his fighting career.
