The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina is now upon us. Sports fans can start preparing themselves for the rough and tumble of ice hockey, the terrifying heights of the ski jump, the elegance of the ice-skating, the precision of curling and the adrenaline of the bobsleigh.
However, Team USA's Winter Olympics team stormed into the headlines when Lindsey Vonn announced she will still be competing in Italy, despite rupturing her ACL. The skiing icon was airlifted to hospital after crashing during the final World Cup downhill event before the winter games. Nevertheless, she is still determined to compete for a fourth Olympic medal.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed figure skater Tomas-Llorenc Guarino Sabate will now be able to make use of music from the Minions movie franchise as part of his performance at the Winter Olympics. He was told there would be a copyright issue, but has since been given blessing to use it by Universal Pictures.
He will be in his yellow top and blue overalls in a clear reference to the iconic 'Minions' cartoon creatures from the movies. If you want to learn more about Vonn, Tomas-Llorenc Guarino Sabate or any other star of the winter games, follow Express Sport's blog.
