Royal Challengers Bangalore
India's largest pharmaceutical company Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has entered the world of cricket. The company has entered into a major three-year partnership with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Under this agreement, Sun Pharma will become the principal sponsor and health partner of RCB.
This deal is considered special for Sun Pharma, because this is its first experience in cricket sponsorship. Through this, the company wants to take its brand identity out of hospitals and medical stores to the most popular sports platform of the country.
Sun Pharma's brand will be visible from jersey to stadium
Under this partnership, Sun Pharma's logo will be prominently visible on the front of RCB's red and black match jersey. Apart from this, the company's branding will also be on the team's green match kit and training dress. High-impact branding will be carried out at the stadium during RCB home matches, providing tremendous visibility to Sun Pharma throughout the IPL season.
Trying to connect the brand with the common people
Sun Pharma Managing Director Kirti Ganorkar said that cricket in India is not just a game but the sentiment of crores of people. He said that this partnership with RCB reflects shared values like continuity, passion and innovation. Its purpose is to bring fans closer to the company on whose medicines they rely on every day.
Not just sponsorship for RCB
IPL's current champion team RCB does not consider this agreement limited to just putting the logo on the jersey. According to the team's COO Rajesh Menon, under this partnership, engagement with fans will be increased through digital platforms and special experiences on match days. This will give fans a new opportunity to connect with both the team and the brand.
Corporate brand campaigns will get a boost
This sponsorship will also strengthen Sun Pharma's recently launched corporate brand campaign, in which the company conveys the message of touching 1,000 lives every minute. By associating with RCB, Sun Pharma wants to convey its patient-centric objective to the general public on a big and high-energy platform like IPL.
