In the second semi-final match played at Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe, the Indian team won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Afghanistan made a great start.
Afghanistan’s innings was started by opener Khalid Ahmadzai, who scored 31 runs in 39 balls with the help of 5 fours and returned to the pavilion. After this, Faisal Shinozada and Usman Sadat made a partnership of 64 runs for the second wicket, due to which the team crossed the century mark. Sadat scored 39 runs in 70 balls with the help of 3 fours.
After this, Shinozada along with Uzairullah Niazi added 148 runs in 130 balls for the third wicket, taking Afghanistan to a huge score. Shinozada was out after scoring 110 runs in 93 balls with the help of 15 fours, while Niazi played a brilliant inning of 101 unbeaten runs in 86 balls hitting 12 fours and 2 sixes. For India, Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chauhan took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Indian team’s openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Aaron George, who came to chase the big target, made a good start. Both of them played aggressively and made a partnership of 90 runs for the first wicket. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out after scoring 68 runs in 33 balls. After that Aaron George was supported by captain Ayush Mhatre. Ayush Mhatre played an inning of 62 runs.
